West Rattlesnake Mountain is a great hike to bring the family on, including the pets! This mountain offers amazing views of the nearby lake, Squam Lake with all of its many islands. This hike is a great option for great views of the sunrise, also helping to avoid crowds. The parking lot can be a bit small, so make sure to plan for a day that may not be as busy. This trail is also very well marked, ensuring an easy navigation throughout the trail. This trail is a great option for those who may lack minor mobility issues as it is not too challenging, though there are some sections with small stairs, so please plan accordingly. If you do choose to bring pets, a leash is required at all times.
