This mountain is notorious for its unpredictable weather patterns, even recording the second strongest winds ever in the world at 231 mph. The Tuckerman’s Ravine trail tends to be one of the more popular trails, though it lacks markings once you get up to the ravine, making it easy to take the wrong turn and get lost. It is very important to conduct research before attempting this trail, to understand conditions you may experience, as well as weather conditions that can cause a turn of events. Even if conditions seem to be stable, be sure to come prepared as anything is possible with the weather on this mountain. It is best to avoid this trail during the winter and early spring months as avalanches, heavy snowstorms, and strong winds are huge risks. If you do choose to do this trail during winter months, ski goggles, crampons and ice axes will be necessary as this trail becomes sleek with ice fields. The ravine is also a popular ski location, where you must be able to hike up in order to ski down. There are large boulder fields and many rock sections throughout this hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This hike is accessible but not via this trail. They offer options during summer and early fall months to take the cog railway or dive up the mountain. These are great options for anyone with disabilities to be able to stand on New Hampshire’s tallest peak!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default
