Located in the Crawford Notch, Mount Willard is a small but gorgeous trail, friendly for the entire family including pets. Although it may seem easy, the trail has a steady incline which can quickly get you out of breath. Despite the uphill hike, you will be rewarded at the summit with stunning views of the valley down below. Along the hike, there is many loose rocks, which can make it easy to roll an ankle or fall. The trail is pretty secluded from the sun so during colder months make sure to pack a jacket to keep yourself warm. This hike is not intended for those who have a disability that may affect their walking or balance. There are two small streams you must cross in the very beginning of the trail, so make sure the shoes you wear are waterproof. Before you get onto the trail, you will be required to cross railroad tracks.
WINTER HIKING:
Micro spikes are typically recommended, but if hiking after a large snowfall, you may want to wear snow shoes. This is a great beginner trail to try out winter hiking for the first time as it is not too challenging.
